Basophilia
Basophil count greater than 150/uL or more than 3% basophils in the peripheral blood smear

Myeloproliferative disorders
--AML
--CML
--Acute Leukemia with basophilic phenotype
Iron Deficiency
Chronic Nephrotic Renal Failure
Lung Cancer
Myxedema
Watch for histamine release in patients with very high basophil counts i.e. AML with basophilic phenotype.
